Classic Baked Cheesecake
Ingredients:
- 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons sugar
- 3 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup sour cream
Instructions:
- Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C).
- In a medium bowl, mix the graham cracker crumbs, melted butter, and 2 tablespoons of sugar until well combined. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan to form the crust.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened cream cheese and 1 cup of sugar until smooth and creamy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Fold in the sour cream until the batter is smooth. Pour the filling over the crust.
- Bake for 50 to 60 minutes, or until the center is mostly set but still slightly jiggly in the middle.
- Turn off the oven, crack the oven door open, and let the cheesecake cool inside for 1 hour.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight) before serving for the best texture and flavor.
