Biscuits & Gravy Casserole

Ingredients:

  • 1 pound beef sausage
  • 1 packet (1½ ounces) beef gravy mix (like Pioneer Brand Peppered Beef Gravy Mix)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 6 large eggs
  • ½ cup milk
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven:
    Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

  2. Cook the sausage:
    In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the beef sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into crumbles. Remove from heat and set aside.

  3. Prepare the gravy:
    In a medium saucepan, prepare the beef gravy according to the package directions. Once thickened, stir in the cooked sausage and mix well.

  4. Assemble the base:
    Spread the sausage and gravy mixture evenly in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.

  5. Add cheese:
    Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese evenly over the sausage and gravy layer.

  6. Make the egg mixture:
    In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper until fully combined.

  7. Pour over casserole:
    Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layers in the baking dish.

  8. Bake:
    Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.

  9. Cool and serve:
    Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
