Melkkos
Ingredients
1 can of condensed milk
2 cups water
1 liter milk
1 cup cake flour
125 ml butter
A pinch of salt
Instructions
Prepare the Dough:
In a bowl, mix the cake flour with a pinch of salt.
Gradually add 2 cups of water, stirring to form a smooth dough. You may need to knead it a little until it’s soft and pliable.
Make the Milk Base:
In a large pot, combine the milk, condensed milk, and butter. Heat over medium heat, stirring occasionally until the butter is melted and the mixture is warm.
Add the Dough to the Milk:
Tear off small pieces of the dough and drop them into the warm milk mixture. Keep stirring gently to prevent the dough from sticking together. These little dough pieces will cook in the milk, forming soft dumplings.
Simmer and Thicken:
Let the mixture simmer gently for about 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally. The dough will cook through, and the milk will thicken into a rich, creamy pudding.
Serve:
Once the melkkos has thickened and the dough pieces are cooked through, remove from heat. Serve the melkkos warm, optionally topped with a sprinkle of cinnamon or sugar for extra sweetness.
