Savory & Crispy Tuna Melt Patties
Ingredients:
- 2 (5 oz) cans tuna in water, drained
- ½ cup mayonnaise
- ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese
- ¼ cup red onion, finely chopped
- ¼ cup celery, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
- ½ teaspoon garlic powder
- ¼ teaspoon black pepper
- ½ cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)
- 4 slices sandwich bread (optional, for serving)
Instructions:
- In a large bowl, mix the drained tuna, mayonnaise, shredded cheddar cheese, red onion, celery, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and black pepper until well combined.
- Stir in the breadcrumbs gradually until the mixture holds together. If it's too loose, add more breadcrumbs as needed.
- Shape the mixture into 4 evenly sized patties.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
- Serve on toasted sandwich bread for a classic tuna melt, or enjoy on their own with your favorite dipping sauce.
