Savory & Crispy Tuna Melt Patties

Ingredients:

  • 2 (5 oz) cans tuna in water, drained
  • ½ cup mayonnaise
  • ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • ¼ cup red onion, finely chopped
  • ¼ cup celery, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil (for frying)
  • 4 slices sandwich bread (optional, for serving)

Instructions:

  1. In a large bowl, mix the drained tuna, mayonnaise, shredded cheddar cheese, red onion, celery, Dijon mustard, garlic powder, and black pepper until well combined.
  2. Stir in the breadcrumbs gradually until the mixture holds together. If it's too loose, add more breadcrumbs as needed.
  3. Shape the mixture into 4 evenly sized patties.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the patties for 3-4 minutes per side, until golden brown and crispy.
  5. Serve on toasted sandwich bread for a classic tuna melt, or enjoy on their own with your favorite dipping sauce.
